WHO WE ARE
Thistle Homes is a business located in the charming town Gympie, it’s owned and run by us, Stephen and Kim, a husband-and-wife team. With our three young children, Bonnie, Hamish and Lachlan it truly is a family run business. We are sincerely a team because what one can’t do, the other does. You could say we are each other’s better half.
As a young child, Stephen was fascinated with the idea of using one’s own hands to build functional structures from scratch. With over 15 years’ industry experience, building new homes and completing major renovations and Kim having worked in the Financial and Corporate world. In 2021, the founding of Thistle Homes turned this dream into a business reality. Together we share a passion for home design and a commitment to delivering a superior service when building your dream home! The name THISTLE HOMES was inspired like all our baby’s by our love for Scottish heritage. This is something that shines though our builds as our love for heritage, character and charm are important. We try to implement this in all our new builds taking them from a house to a home….

We are a qualified, local and family operated builder located in Gympie. We service Gympie and all surrounding areas. Our team are local boys and Stephen the director has been in the building industry for over 15 years. We construct a wide range of jobs as listed:

The 2.1T Mini Excavator Hire
The mini excavator is the best all-around machine for backyard work, tight access excavations, or just smaller jobs. The width of the machine is 990mm wide and has tracks that expand out to 1240mm for extra stability.Ticket is required for this machine. This machine comes on its own trailer with a Bluetooth electric braking system that takes the extra weight; with the machine on it, this trailer weighs in at 3T.You will need to check your vehicle rating to ensure that your towing capacity exceeds the towing capacity with brakes. An electric brake controller inside your vehicle is not required. This trailer is fitted with remote trailers come with a 7 pin flat electrical plug.

INITIAL CONSULTATION
We’ll talk through your expectations, your vision and the restrictions on your new project, before going through options and opportunities that might work for you. It’s important that we find out if we’re a good fit together.

COST ESTIMATE
With your designs in hand, we begin the process of estimation through reputable suppliers and other contacts. We take great care to be precise so we can offer you a reliable quote.

DESIGN & PLANNING CONSULTAION
This is were we work closely with a reliable team of draftspeople, engineers and surveyors to design and draft your custom home if you have not already got plans prepared. Once the package is tailored to suit your needs and the deposit is paid, we begin the design and/or quotation process.

CONTRACTS
Once you are happy with all relevant amendments and the proposal is finalised, we can then move to contract and confirm a commencement date.
BUILD BEGINS
Our build team will work alongside qualified trades to complete your renovation, communicating and consulting with you throughout the entire projec
