WHO WE ARE
Thistle Homes is a boutique, family-run building company based in the charming town of Gympie, proudly owned and operated by husband-and-wife team, Stephen and Kim.
With our three young children—Bonnie, Hamish and Lachlan—family sits at the heart of everything we do. Our business is a true partnership, built on the belief that what one of us can’t do, the other can. Together, we bring a balance of construction expertise, organisation, and care to every home we create.
Stephen’s passion for building began at a young age, driven by a fascination with creating something meaningful from the ground up. With over 23 years of industry experience across new homes and major renovations, paired with Kim’s background in the financial and corporate sector, Thistle Homes was established in 2021—bringing together our shared vision of delivering a more considered, high-end building experience.

We have all QBCC licences and insurances needed to be on construction sites. If you are looking at doing any renovations, building a new home or investment please contact us and we can come and do a site inspection.

INITIAL CONSULTATION
We’ll talk through your expectations, your vision and the restrictions on your new project, before going through options and opportunities that might work for you. It’s important that we find out if we’re a good fit together.

COST ESTIMATE
With your designs in hand, we begin the process of estimation through reputable suppliers and other contacts. We take great care to be precise so we can offer you a reliable quote.

DESIGN & PLANNING CONSULTAION
This is were we work closely with a reliable team of draftspeople, engineers and surveyors to design and draft your custom home if you have not already got plans prepared. Once the package is tailored to suit your needs and the deposit is paid, we begin the design and/or quotation process.

CONTRACTS
Once you are happy with all relevant amendments and the proposal is finalised, we can then move to contract and confirm a commencement date.
BUILD BEGINS
Our build team will work alongside qualified trades to complete your renovation, communicating and consulting with you throughout the entire projec
